Assam's Kasturi Sharma has won two gold medals at the 6th BCAI National Arm Wrestling Championship held in Bengaluru. She competed in the 70 kg weight category and finished on top in both the right-hand and left-hand events.
In both finals, she beat Princy T Jack of Kerala. The win allowed Sharma to keep her national title, making it her third national championship victory in a row.
Arm wrestling contests are decided separately for the right arm and the left arm, so a competitor has to win two different brackets to take both golds in a weight class. Sharma managed this in the 70 kg class, beating the same opponent in both finals.
Her result was reported on 14 June 2026. With three national titles in a row, Sharma has now held the top spot in her category for three straight editions of the championship, and her double gold adds to the medals won by athletes from Assam at national level this year.
